The deadline for submitting the applications is the 15th February 2010 for the Hungarian applicants. We are delighted that we could meet a lot of our "want to be" students on the open days at the Faculty personally. Should any further questions arise before the final submission we are looking forward to giving any administrative assistance required. This year it is also possible to submit your application electronically through the "felvi" web-site: http://www.felvi.hu/
Before we meet again in September please, read the welcome words of Gábor Rappai, the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics.
Dear Prospective Students!
You are exploring the web-site of Hungary's oldest University and the country's first off-capital Faculty of Economics, and you are thinking, whether it is prosperous to receive a qualification in the field of Economics, and whether it is worthwhile to do so at our Faculty of the University of Pécs (or pécsiközgáz as it is usually called).
Yes, we also know that nowadays too many students are studying economics in Hungary, but the economy always demands, and will always demand experts with marketable knowledge, who possess abilities and skills mostly required on the labour market. The reputation of the degrees received at the University of Pécs is founded by its competitiveness. The new "bologna" structure and the traditionally high-quality education ensure that our Faculty is absolutely able to prepare the students for a successful withstand in the keen professional competition on the labour market. All these combined with a variety of special students programmes, and a diversity of the cultural life in the city plus a modern university building contribute to the unusual high quality of the education at the pécsiközgáz. (As a special part of this education our students have the opportunity to be participants and also organizers of "The Cultural Capital of Europe 2010" project, too.)
If you are dedicated, and you are taking seriously your future career, and if you are ready to take the extra work needed to achieve the competitiveness afforded by the Faculty, then I think it really is worthwhile to choose the pécsiközgáz. If you obtain admission to the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Pécs, you will spend here, I would calmly state, the 3 most beautiful years of your life (and if you stay here for an MA qualification, then maybe the 5-6 most beautiful ones).
Do not forget the slogan of the Faculty: "pécsiközgáz - where the career starts"!
